Life Church is built on a rich legacy of faith.
Life Church began in 1954 when a small group of sincere believers gathered in a Houston home to pray, worship, and seek the life only Jesus can give. That humble gathering quickly grew into a vibrant church community with a heart for the city and a vision for the world.
As the church expanded, new spaces were built, new communities reached, and new generations raised up. What began in a living room soon became a cornerstone in Southeast Houston—ministering to families, discipling believers, and meeting needs through Spirit-filled worship, biblical teaching, and everyday acts of love.
Over the decades, Life Church has remained anchored in its calling: to glorify Jesus and lead people into the abundant life He offers. With a rich legacy of faithful leadership and a relentless commitment to the gospel, the church has seen seasons of growth, transition, and transformation—each one pointing to God’s faithfulness.
Today, Life Church is a multi-site, multi-generational community, passionate about reaching people both locally and globally.
The story of Life Church is still being written. With every worship service, every baptism, every child discipled and family restored, we’re living out the vision that began in a living room all those years ago. We believe the best is yet to come—and we’re just getting started.
